LIBRARY POLICIES

No food, outside of the student lounge, is allowed in the library.

Borrowing Privileges

Borrowing privileges are extended to HU campus community upon presentation of a valid Howard University Identification Card. Faculty and staff must present a current photo I.D. and students must present a photo I.D. with a current validation sticker.

Loan Periods

Books    Three weeks (21 days); two renewals
Reserve    Two hours (2 hours) library use.
Journals    Do not circulate.
Audio Visual    Two hours (2 hours) library use only.
Faculty/Hospital staff may borrow for overnight use.

Overdue Fines

Books    $0.25/item/day ($25 maximum)
Reserve    $0.05/item/minute ($25 maximum)
Recall items    $0.35/item/day
Lost items    Fine + replacement cost of item + $15 processing fee
